In this role, you will be responsible for precision machining operations using manual tools and equipment to produce high-quality metal components. Your expertise in reading blueprints, interpreting mechanical drawings, and operating various machining tools will be essential to ensure the accuracy and quality of every part produced. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated team committed to manufacturing excellence and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Set up and operate manual machining equipment such as lathes, grinders, and milling machines to produce precise metal parts according to specifications. Interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) to determine machining requirements. Use precision measurement instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines for quality control and measurement verification. Perform machine setup, calibration, and adjustments to ensure optimal performance and accuracy during production runs. Read and interpret technical M-code commands for machine operation when applicable; understand CNC G-code programming basics for troubleshooting or supplementary tasks. Conduct quality inspections of machined parts using measurement tools and visual checks to meet strict tolerances. Maintain a clean, safe work environment by following safety protocols and properly handling hand tools, power tools, and tooling equipment. Skills Proficiency in manual machining techniques with experience operating lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other machining tools. Strong understanding of blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, GD&T principles, and measurement standards. Knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code; familiarity with CNC machining processes including CNC lathe and milling machine operations. Experience with CAD software like SolidWorks or AutoCAD for interpreting design files; basic CAM programming skills are a plus. Ability to perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines. Mechanical knowledge related to metalworking processes including tool selection, machine setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) techniques is advantageous but not mandatory. Strong math skills for calculations related to measurements, tolerances, and machining parameters. Excellent hand-eye coordination with the ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
