Job Description

Job Title:
Machine Builder Job Description This role is responsible for assembling, rebuilding, and starting up complex equipment and machinery. You will fit and assemble machine components using blueprints, manuals, documentation, and your knowledge of machine construction to build, repair, and verify the performance of industrial equipment. Responsibilities Assemble machines and subassemblies based on blueprints, schematics, and work instructions Install and align components such as motors, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, and conveyors Fabricate and modify parts using welding (MIG/TIG), cutting, drilling, and grinding equipment Safely move and position large components using cranes, hoists, and forklifts Perform rebuilds, retrofits, and modifications on existing equipment as needed Essential Skills Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and experience in mechanical assembly. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings. Ability to conduct test runs on completed tools or assemblies and make necessary adjustments to meet specifications. Ability to work safely with cranes, forklifts, and other industrial equipment. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a large equipment manufacturing shop environment. The facility operates Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m with extended hours when running overtime. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Crystal Lake, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
