Position Summary:
The Fabrication/Machinist is responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining a variety of machines to produce precision metal or plastic parts. This role requires interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure components meet exact tolerances and quality standards. The Fabrication/Machinist may work with manual machines, CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, or a combination of both.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics. Proficiency with CNC programming and operation is required. Set up and operate manual and CNC and/or machines including mills, grinders, drills, hand tools, breaks and presses. Measure and inspect finished products using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges). Adjust machine settings to meet specifications and maintain quality standards. Perform routine maintenance on machines and tools. Monitor production processes and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Follow all safety protocols and company procedures. Document production and inspection results accurately.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. Some College preferred. 1+ year running CNC and/or equivalent automated machines. Experience in lighting or electrical component handling as well as metal and plastics fabrication are needed.
Skills and Competencies:
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or technical certification preferred. Proven experience as a machinist or in a similar manufacturing role. Strong understanding of metallurgy, thermos plastic machining processes, and measurement techniques. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Physical ability to handle machinery and materials safely. Work directly with CAM Manager to develop NC programs. Strong desire to push forward through problems. Experience with Fusion 360 Manufacturing a plus. Forklift, Sit-down Truck, Reach Truck, Power Industrial Lift experience a plus. Experience with
HAAS - NGR
control a plus.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a warehouse or manufacturing environment. May involve exposure to moving equipment, moderate noise, and temperature changes. Physical requirements include standing, walking, lifting up to 50lbs, bending, and reaching throughout shift.
