The CNC Machinist Team Lead has a dual role as a working team lead who is responsible for overseeing multiple employees in a fast paced, low volume, high mix manufacturing environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in interview and selection process.
Provide training to new team members. Conduct 30/66/90 and annual reviews for each employee. Provide feedback and training to employees to develop and enhance skills. Monitor attendance and performance and consult with Shop Floor Manager as needed. Attend daily morning meetings with other departments to determine needs and bi-weekly production meetings. Keep, organize, and record a log of disciplinary issues. Work with other departments to achieve goals and tasks. Order tools and parts as needed. Determine who fulfills work order based on availability and skill level. Organize the tool vending machine and order tools as needed. Train and cross train others in the department. Inspect parts visually for quality. Ability to operate all machinery in the department.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma or GED required Vocational School or Trade School preferred 5 years of leadership preferred Ability to operate CNC mills and lathes and manual mills and lathes. Ability to work with others to complete tasks or work individually. Proficient reading skills for tape measures, caliper, and other measuring tools. Ability to stay organized and work in stressful environments.
