Job Description

3rd Shift Monday - Thursday, 8:00pm - 6:30am Job Description The position of machinist is to support the Production Manager by setting up, programming, and operating various CNC and manual machines to produce high quality precision parts. This position may require travel and service work to be performed at Navy facilities around the United States. Responsibilities/Duties
  • Review drawings/blueprints to understand part requirements
  • Write/modify programs for CNC machines (G-Code and/or Conversational)
  • Use precision measuring tools to ensure part conformance to drawing tolerances
  • Setup parts and fixturing with minimal supervision
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment
  • Comply with safety rules and regulations during course of duties. Skills/Training/Qualifications required
  • 3+ years machining experience or completion of vocational school/apprenticeship preferred
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments (i.e. micrometers, calipers, etc.)
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and dimensional tolerancing
  • Working knowledge of mathematics, including basic trigonometry
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety. Performance measures
  • Consistent production of quality parts with minimal scrap or rework
  • Internal audits indicate functions are conducted and records completed in accordance with established policies.
  • Nonconformance and scrap are handled in accordance with established quality procedures.
  • Safety policies are observed.
  • External audits, e.g., ISO, government, or customer audits, product positive results. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
