The pay is between $22-$33 per hour, depending on experience. This is a night shift position working Monday through Friday for 8 - 10 hours per day. Overtime and weekend work available based on the needs of the business.
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will have experience operating manual machining equipment in a fabrication shop environment. This role involves machining and fabricating parts using manual lathes, milling machines, and drill presses while ensuring all work meets precise specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate manual machining equipment including lathes, milling machines, and drill presses. Machine and fabricate parts according to drawings, specifications, and shop requirements. Perform measurements and inspections to ensure parts meet quality standards and tolerances. Maintain and organize machinist tools and equipment. Assist with fabrication shop operations and support other shop personnel as needed. Disassemble and reassemble pumps, valves, and hydraulic components when required. Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following shop safety procedures. Communicate with supervisors and team members to complete projects efficiently. Report equipment issues or machining concerns to supervisors. Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Manual Machinist. Proficient in operating manual lathes (vertical and horizontal), milling machines, and drill presses. Experience working in a fabrication shop environment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and machining specifications. Shipyard or marine industry experience preferred. Must have own machinist hand tools. Strong attention to detail and ability to machine parts accurately to specifications.
Physical Requirements:
This position involves regular physical activity, including: Standing for prolonged periods. Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing. Working in trenches and around heavy equipment. Pushing and pulling heavy materials and equipment. Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must pass a physical, drug screen, and background check.
