Job Title:
CNC Machinist Job Description Join a skilled machinist team in a mid-size, clean, and well-maintained shop where you primarily run repeat CNC jobs. Once machines are properly set up and running, the work is largely hands-off, allowing you to focus on quality, efficiency, and consistent output. Responsibilities Operate horizontal and vertical CNC machines, including 4-axis mills and lathes, to produce precision components according to specifications. Run mostly repeat production jobs, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to established processes. Read and interpret engineering blueprints and fabrication drawings to determine machining requirements. Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools to inspect parts and verify dimensions. Monitor machine operations and make adjustments to controls as needed to maintain accuracy and productivity. Work with Fanuc, Mazak, and Haas controls to load programs, set parameters, and operate equipment safely and efficiently. Collaborate with the machinist team to meet production schedules and maintain a smooth workflow. Follow all shop safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area. Communicate any issues with machines, tooling, or quality to appropriate personnel in a timely manner. Essential Skills Minimum 2 years of machinist experience in a production or job shop environment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings accurately. Hands-on experience operating both vertical and horizontal CNC equipment on 4-axis mills or lathes. Proficiency working with Fanuc, Mazak, and Haas CNC controls. Strong blueprint reading skills and understanding of machining tolerances. Ability to use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measurement tools to inspect parts. Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, accurate components. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clinton, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $31.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
