Job Title:
Manual Machinist Job Description We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist who is adept at machining parts for rotating equipment such as pumps, shafts, couplings, rings, cases, turbines, and valves. The role involves operating manual mills and lathes, primarily working with steel and stainless steel. This position requires precision work with tolerances down to .5 thousandths of an inch. Responsibilities Machining parts for rotating equipment. Operating manual lathes and mills. Working with steel and stainless steel materials. Maintaining precise tolerances in machining operations. Essential Skills 4+ years of experience as a Manual Machinist. Proficiency in operating manual lathes and mills. Ability to work with tight tolerances. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with VTL and HBM is highly desirable. Familiarity with using calipers, micrometers, and blueprint reading. Skills in grinding, drill press operations, and manual machining. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a climate-controlled indoor shop with a structured schedule from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM, Monday through Thursday. Fridays are scheduled at 60%, and weekend work is typically for emergencies only, with double time on Sundays and holidays. A 10% differential is applied for PM shifts. The position offers 8 holidays, 2 floating holidays, and a 4% match on the 401(k) plan. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kenner, LA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
