Aerodyne Industries Careers seeks a Senior Level CNC Machinist to support mission-critical aerospace and spaceflight hardware from our Merritt Island, FL facility. In this role, you will program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes to produce complex, tight-tolerance components for NASA and government customers. You will interpret blueprints, models, and GD&T, select tooling and fixtures, optimize machining parameters, and ensure quality through in-process inspection. Working in a collaborative, safety-focused environment, you'll help refine manufacturing processes, mentor junior machinists, and contribute directly to human spaceflight missions. Responsibilities Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes for aerospace components Interpret blueprints, 3 D models, and GD&T for precision machining Select tooling, workholding, and machining strategies for tight tolerances Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments Optimize feeds, speeds, and tool paths for quality and throughput Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust setups or programs as needed Maintain equipment, tooling, and a clean, safe work environment Collaborate with engineers on manufacturability and process improvements Document setups, procedures, and quality results Mentor and support junior machinists on best practices Required Skills CNC programming (e.g., G-code, CAM software) CNC mill and lathe setup and operation Blueprint reading and GD&TUse of precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) Fixture and tooling selection and setup Aerospace or high-precision manufacturing practices CAM software operation (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360) Knowledge of machining metals and alloys (e.g., aluminum, titanium) Process troubleshooting and optimization Documentation and adherence to quality standards (e.g., AS9100)
