Compensation:
$22.00 per hour + Progressive Milestone Raises Position Overview Are you a current CNC trade school student or recent graduate ready to launch your career on the shop floor? We are seeking a dedicated CNC Lathe Machinist Apprentice to join our team on the Day Shift . This position is explicitly designed for individuals with foundational machining knowledge who want to transition school experience into a high-paying, lifelong manufacturing career. You will participate in a structured apprenticeship program combining paid on-the-job training with hands-on technical instruction to master the craft of setup, operation, and programming for multi-axis CNC turning centers. Under the direct mentorship of our experienced journeyman machinists, you will gain deep, real-world experience working directly with industry-standard Fanuc, Haas, and Mazak control systems.
What You Will Learn & Do Machine Operation:
Learn to safely set up, adjust, and operate CNC lathes utilizing Fanuc, Haas, and Mazak controls.
Blueprint Reading:
Interpret complex technical blueprints, engineering drawings, and manufacturing specifications.
Precision Measurement:
Master quality inspections using precision tools like micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and bore gauges to maintain tight tolerances.
G-Code Editing:
Work directly with control screens to read, troubleshoot, and make minor edits to G-code programming.
Tooling Maintenance:
Perform tool changes, execute offset adjustments, manage machine lubrication, and handle daily preventative maintenance tasks.
Safety & Quality:
Strictly adhere to workshop safety standards and maintain an organized, clean workspace. Shift Details Day Shift schedule (e.g., Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM).
Note:
We are open to discussing flexible hour arrangements within the day shift window if you are a current student finalizing your coursework.
Qualifications & Requirements Education:
Current enrollment in, or recent graduation from, an accredited CNC Machining Trade School or Technical Program is required.
Technical Knowledge:
Foundational understanding of machining principles, shop math, and blueprint reading.
Control Systems:
Prior classroom exposure to Fanuc, Haas, or Mazak controls is a significant advantage.
Mindset:
A growth-oriented attitude, excellent listening skills, and a strong commitment to safety and precision.
Physical Ability:
Able to lift up to [e.g., 50 lbs] and stand for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
