The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with a deep understanding of precision machining, tooling, and process optimization. Responsibilities Program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines to produce complex, high-precision parts from blueprints or CAD models Write and edit programs at the machine or in CAM software (Mastercam) Select tooling and determine efficient machining processes and setups Troubleshoot machining issues, optimize feeds/speeds, and ensure smooth operation Work closely with the team to meet quality, cost, and schedule goals Maintain machine accuracy and a clean, organized workstation Qualifications Expert-level CNC milling experience (setup, operation, and programming) Strong understanding of G-code, Fanuc controls, and CAM systems Proficient in reading and interpreting complex blueprints, GD&T, and 3D models Solid knowledge of machining principles, materials, and cutting tool technology Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and mentor others as needed Mastercam programming experience strongly preferred Polaris Engineering & Manufacturing is a leading, family owned, precision manufacturing house in Fraser, Michigan.
