We manufacture a complete line of long-life nitrogen gas springs used in automotive, appliance and other industries in their metal forming and plastic injection molding operations. We are looking for a dedicated, dependable individual to fill a day shift, full-time opening for a machinist in our facility located in Plymouth, Michigan. Qualified candidates will be quick learners with a high school diploma, technical aptitude, and strong attention to detail with experience in a manufacturing environment. CNC machining experience with strong math and computer skills is preferred. You must be team oriented, punctual and have a can-do attitude with a desire to succeed. Our facility strives for continuous improvement. DADCO is truly a state-of-the art facility. The work areas are kept very clean, always keeping safety and comfort as top priorities. The manufacturing floor is air conditioned and filled with natural light from the numerous skylights. All positions provide a great opportunity for hands on experience learning the manufacturing process. Key Job duties and responsibilities include: Complete set-up work and operate machines. Set-up and operate surface grinder, cylindrical grinder and manual machines. Use precision measuring instruments to insure that parts produced meet quality standards. Perform secondary operations on parts made on machines. Take SPC readings on parts. Preventive machine maintenance as needed. Monitor and change cutting tools (inserts) for optimal performance. Make prototype parts. Deburr and clean small parts. Perform other duties as assigned. Work Schedule One Shift with Overtime (per business conditions) Monday
- Friday 7:00 AM
- 4:30 PM Every other Saturday 7:00 AM
- Noon (as business needs require)
Paid Holidays Off Qualifications:
18 years of age with a High School Diploma. 1-3 years of experience setting up and operating machine tools. Ability to read and interpret production drawings. Ability to use precision metrology equipment. Must be able to communicate effectively. Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team. Strong computer skills. Must have strong general mechanical skills and the ability to read blueprints.
Strong math skills:
add, subtract, multiply and divide. Strong hand-eye coordination. Diplomacy and ability to function as a member in a team environment.
