Job Description

Summary:
A Wire EDM Machinist job involves programming, program selection, setting up, and operating Agie and Makino wire and sinker EDM machines to precisely cut and shape metal parts, requiring strong technical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of machining principles. Fully knowledgeable in programming and defining parameters to make high precision parts with tolerances ranging from ±0.0002 to ±0.001.
  • This is a 1st Shift Position
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs, based on engineering drawings and 3D models
  • Operating wire EDM machines to produce parts according to specifications.
  • Monitoring the EDM machining process to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Identifying and addressing potential problems or issues during operation.
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Setting up and adjusting machine parameters for optimal performance.
  • Selecting appropriate wire electrode for hole popper and Wire/Sinker EDM fixtures/tooling.
  • Troubleshoot machining, programming, and Wire EDM issues and determine appropriate corrective actions.
  • Performing precision measurements and quality inspections of machined parts.
  • Verifying dimensions, alignments, and clearances using appropriate measuring equipment.
  • Ensuring that parts meet specified tolerances and quality standards.
  • Maintaining machines and equipment in safe and efficient working conditions.
  • Following safety procedures and regulations.
  • Keeping the work area clean and organized.
  • Other Duties:
  • Collaborating with engineers and other team members.
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Providing support for other machining processes.
Qualifications:
  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • 5 years of solid experience in set-up and operation of wire EDM machine.
  • Ability to work from complex drawings with close tolerances.
  • Experience with low volume, high mix production
  • Ability to interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience with gages and measuring equipment.
Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
