Job Description

CNC MACHINIST S&S
Tool Inc. - Anoka, MN S&S Tool Inc. is looking for an experienced and motivated CNC Machinist to join our team. This is a full-time position working in a custom job-shop environment producing close-tolerance parts for a variety of applications. We are looking for someone with CNC milling and/or CNC turning experience who is interested in expanding their skills and learning additional machining processes, including CNC grinding. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Program, set up, and operate CNC machine tools to produce close-tolerance parts. Read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and tolerances. Write and edit CNC programs and make adjustments at the machine as needed. Read and edit G & M code and work with conversational CNC controls. Use GibbsCAM to create and modify CNC programs. Select appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and work-holding methods. Set up and operate multiple CNC machines as needed. Troubleshoot machining and quality issues and make necessary program, tooling, and process adjustments. Inspect completed parts using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, bore gages, CMMs, calipers, gage blocks, profilometers, and height stands. Work with a variety of materials, including tool steel, carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, plastics, and exotic materials. Maintain machines, tooling, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition. Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members. Meet production schedules and customer delivery requirements. Identify and communicate quality concerns and help prevent nonconforming product from reaching the customer. Follow company quality, safety, and manufacturing procedures. Participate in continuous improvement efforts and help improve manufacturing processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 1 year of CNC programming experience. 2+ years of CNC machining experience, preferably in a job-shop environment. Experience with CNC milling and/or CNC turning. Experience with GibbsCAM preferred. Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Fadal, Mitsubishi, or conversational CNC controls. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings. Ability to write and edit G & M code. Strong mechanical and technical skills. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Basic to intermediate experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word. JobBOSS experience is a plus.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 10 hours. Ability to lift up to 60 pounds. Good visual acuity and fine motor skills. Moderate exposure to machine noise; hearing protection is provided. Must wear eye protection and other required
