Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CNC Lathe Setup Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, and operating CNC lathes to produce precision metal components. Your expertise will help ensure efficient production processes, high-quality outputs, and continuous improvement in machining operations. Responsibilities Set up CNC lathe machines by installing tooling, fixtures, and workpieces according to blueprints and specifications. Edit CNC lathes using G-code and M-code commands, including Fanuc controls, to produce complex parts with precision. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to determine machining requirements. Perform machining operations manually or via CNC programming to achieve desired dimensions and surface finishes. Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement tools for quality control. Adjust tooling as needed to optimize machining performance and ensure adherence to quality standards. Maintain a clean and safe work environment while adhering to safety protocols related to machine operation, welding, grinding, and handling power tools. Qualifications Proven experience as a CNC Lathe Setup Machinist or similar role with a strong understanding of CNC machining processes. Proficiency in CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code; experience with Fanuc controls is preferred. Skilled in reading mechanical blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings. Knowledge of machining tools and tooling setup for metal machining applications. Mechanical knowledge including interpretation of mechanical blueprints and understanding of manufacturing processes like plastics injection molding when applicable. Ability to use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines for quality inspection. Basic math skills necessary for measurement calculations and machine adjustments. Experience with CNC G-code programming lathe equipment; knowledge of CNC quality inspection methods is a plus. Strong mechanical aptitude combined with manual dexterity; ability to operate hand tools, grinders, and power tools when needed. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy parts safely, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Pay:
$28.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
