Job Description

Job Title:
CNC Machinist Job Description As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines, including mills, lathes, and routers, to produce precision parts. Your role will involve performing basic programming and editing of G & M code directly at the machine. You will interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions, and conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of machines. Ensuring quality standards, you will inspect finished parts using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Troubleshooting minor issues with machines or programs and escalating them when necessary will also be part of your duties. You will maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety standards and work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production goals. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC machines to produce precision parts. Perform basic programming and editing of G & M code at the machine. Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions. Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of machines. Inspect finished parts using measuring tools to ensure quality standards. Troubleshoot minor issues and escalate as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety standards. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals. Essential Skills Machining Blueprint reading Programming CNC Machine operating Troubleshooting Additional Skills & Qualifications Basic understanding of G & M code programming. Familiarity with operating multiple CNC machines. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Willingness to learn and adapt in a team-oriented environment. Basic math and computer skills. Experience with CAD/CAM software. Knowledge of different materials like aluminum, steel, and plastics. Work Environment The work environment is a temperature-controlled, clean workspace, organized into sections suited for different types of work. Machines are grouped in one area, and welding occurs in a separate designated space. Large bay doors are kept open in pleasant weather, ensuring a well-kept and comfortable setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Concord, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
