Leland, NC Programming & Setup:
Read and interpret complex blueprints, CAD/CAM models, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) specifications. Translate these designs into machine G-code and set up tooling, fixtures, and raw materials.
Machine Operation:
Run multi-axis CNC/Manual machines (lathes, mills, knee mills, saws, and grinders). Continuously monitor feed rates, speeds, and tool wear to optimize cutting efficiency and prevent part damage.
Quality Assurance & Inspection:
Perform rigorous in-process and final inspections of finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, bore gauges, and other various gauges.
Troubleshooting & Calibration:
Adjust machine offsets and quickly troubleshoot programming or tooling anomalies to guarantee that parts meet the aerospace industry's stringent dimensional tolerances.
Documentation & Traceability:
Maintain accurate logs, inspection reports, and production records to guarantee full traceability of all aerospace parts.
Equipment Maintenance:
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment (cleaning, lubricating, and calibrating) to keep machines running safely and efficiently.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
  • CNC Set-up experience of both lathes and mills, with demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above-mentioned tasks a must.
  • Must be experienced in the operation of Fanuc Controls, Mazak experience is a plus.
  • Competence with all standard measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, bore gages and dial indicators.
  • Ability to read and understand specifications, travelers and drawings, knowledge of Digital Product Definitions is a plus.
  • Knowledge of machining theory and sequences of operation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and analyze production, set-up and tooling issues.
  • Experience in Lifting Heavy Equipment using hoists, hand trucks, conveyors and lifts
  • Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, fixtures and other accessories used on various machines.
  • CNC Operators must stand for long periods and be adaptable to a changing work environment as well.
  • CNC Operators also must be open to being exposed to noise, fumes and varying temperatures.
Compensation for this position ranges from $20 to $35, depending on experience, qualifications, and business needs. Please note that the top of the salary range is reserved for candidates with extensive experience and may not be offered to all applicants. We offer competitive salaries and benefit packages.
