Job Title:
CNC Lathe Machinist C Job Description The CNC Lathe Machinist C works alongside higher-level machinists to support machining operations on CNC lathe equipment. This role focuses on assisting with tooling and fixture selection, monitoring part counts and documentation, and supporting in-process inspection to ensure parts meet quality standards. The position offers hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machining, changeovers, and basic programming tasks. Responsibilities Assist Machinists A and B with daily CNC lathe machining operations. Help select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and setup components for each job. Support machine changeovers between different parts and jobs. Aid in basic programming-related tasks for machining operations as directed. Keep accurate count of parts produced and maintain detailed production records. Assist in conducting in-process inspections of parts to verify dimensions and quality. Collaborate with small teams to complete machining assignments efficiently. Identify and communicate potential issues with tooling, fixtures, or machine performance. Follow established safety procedures and manufacturing guidelines while operating machining equipment. Essential Skills At least 6 months of experience in a manufacturing environment involving machining equipment. Hands-on experience with lathe and machine operating in a production setting. Basic understanding of machining processes, including mechanical aspects of equipment operation. Ability to support machine changeovers between different parts and setups. Exposure to programming and mill operations in a machining environment. Ability to work effectively in small teams and contribute to shared goals. Good problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address issues in machining processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications Comfort working with CNC lathe machinery under the guidance of more experienced machinists. Attention to detail when counting parts and maintaining accurate records. Interest in developing skills in tooling selection, fixturing, and in-process inspection. Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving production needs in a contract manufacturing environment. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Northfield, NH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.50/hr.
