Job Description

BASIC FUNCTION
Under the direction of the CNC Mill Supervisor, provides support to the operation and maintenance of the CNC Mill department by performing the below listed duties.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Perform production of parts using conventional CNC machines. 2. Perform unassisted setup of 4
  • and 5-axis CNC machines.
3. Reads blueprints and/or specifications to understand and apply the requirements of products to accurately and legibly process work orders. 4. Measures product dimensions, examines functionality, and compares the product to required specifications to ensure final products meet Customer expectations and Company standards. 5. Documents in-process inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports. Communicates the results of inspections and provides corrective suggestions to Supervisor and/or manufacturing personnel. 6. Interface with QC (i.e., regarding first piece inspection) as needed. 7. Utilizes all types of measuring instruments (i.e., micrometers, depth micrometers, verniers, and other related equipment) to inspect parts in accordance with the appropriate output samples and inspection methods defined on provided inspection guide sheets. 8. Properly use tools to complete the machining process
  • includes the maintenance, sharpening, and replacement of tooling when necessary.
9. Observe and supervise CNC Mill Class II Machinists when needed. 10. Keep machine(s) and work area clean from oils, chips, and unwanted materials. 11. Contribute to a safe work environment through the correct use of equipment and reporting machine malfunctions. 12. Actively participates in Company 6S/Lean initiatives. 13. Recommends improvements to the production process to ensure quality control. 14. Works independently and/or within a team on special/non-recurring ongoing projects
  • occasionally includes assisting in the completion of Validation/equipment qualification "OQ" and/or performing Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (Gage R&R) studies for gages and fixture setups.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education:
N/A Experience & Expertise:
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience is preferred.
  • Capable of setting up/operating 4
  • and 5
  • axis CNC Milling jobs to layouts supplied.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications. Knowledge of sampling and inspection plans.
  • Working knowledge of G-codes and standard controls (Fanuc).
  • Familiarity with the utilization or measuring instruments
  • comparator, height gages/electronic height gages, caliper, thread plug gages, and other job-related hand tools.
  • Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Prior exposure to Medical Device industry/working in compliance to ISO 13485 and/or
ISO 9001
is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven record of success working in a fast-paced, high pressure, deadline-driven work environment.
Physical Demands:
  • Required to stand for long periods of time.
  • May involve some repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • May also engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling.
Pay:
$18.00
