Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Machinist specializing in Mill and Lathe operations to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision metal components. Your expertise in machining tools, blueprint reading, and CNC programming will ensure the highest quality standards are met while adhering to safety protocols. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC milling machines and lathes, including manual machining when necessary, ensuring accurate production according to specifications. Program CNC machines using G-code, M-code, CAD (Computer-Aided Design), CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing), and Fanuc controls to optimize machining processes. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings, applying GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles for precise manufacturing. Conduct machine calibrations, tool changes, and adjustments to maintain tight tolerances using precision measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines. Perform quality inspections on finished parts utilizing measurement tools and visual inspection techniques to verify conformance with specifications. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety standards, including proper handling of grinding tools, power tools, welding equipment, and forklifts when necessary. Troubleshoot machining issues promptly by analyzing machine performance and making necessary adjustments or repairs to minimize downtime. Requirements Proven experience operating CNC milling machines and lathes with proficiency in CNC G-code programming; familiarity with Fanuc controls is preferred. Strong knowledge of machining tools, tooling setup, fixture alignment, and manual machining techniques. Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical specifications accurately. Mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints for precise manufacturing processes. Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or other design programs is a plus for understanding part design requirements. Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is advantageous but not mandatory. Basic math skills including measurements calculations necessary for precision machining tasks. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and waste reduction in production workflows. Valid certification or experience in measurement techniques using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision instruments. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, welding equipment, forklifts, and other machinery safely.
