Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented 5-axis CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate, program, and set up advanced 5-axis CNC milling machines to produce complex metal components with precision and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of CNC machining processes, including CAD/CAM programming, machine setup, and quality inspection. This position offers an excellent opportunity for experienced machinists to contribute to high-precision manufacturing projects in a dynamic environment dedicated to excellence and innovation. Responsibilities Operate and program 5-axis CNC milling machines using CNC G-code programming and CAM software to produce intricate parts according to detailed blueprints and technical specifications. Set up machining tools, fixtures, and tooling to ensure optimal machine performance and part accuracy. Interpret mechanical blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) symbols, and technical drawings for precise manufacturing. Perform machine calibration, tool changes, and adjustments to maintain tight tolerances during production runs. Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments for quality control. Troubleshoot machining issues related to M-code, M-functions (machine-specific commands), or mechanical problems; perform manual machining or use grinders when necessary. Maintain documentation of machining processes, inspection reports, and quality standards in compliance with lean manufacturing principles. Collaborate with engineering teams on tooling design, fixture setup, and process improvements. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and proper handling of power tools, hand tools, grinders, and other equipment. Requirements Proven experience as a 5-axis CNC machinist or operator with comprehensive knowledge of CNC programming languages including G-code and M-code. Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar for interpreting mechanical blueprints; experience with CAD/CAM software for programming preferred. Strong understanding of machining tools, tooling selection, fixture setup, and machine calibration on CNC milling machines. Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus. Ability to read complex mechanical blueprints with GD&T annotations accurately. Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of metal machining techniques including grinding, boring, and manual machining methods. Experience with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines for quality assurance. Basic math skills necessary for calculations related to dimensions, tolerances, and feed rates. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles aimed at reducing waste while maintaining high-quality standards. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across teams involved in manufacturing processes. If you are passionate about precision engineering and eager to contribute your expertise in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, we encourage you to apply today. Join us in producing high-quality components that meet the highest standards of accuracy and craftsmanship.
