Packaging Line Worker Job Description The Packaging Line Worker operates automated and semi-automated equipment to fill, label, and package various products with a high level of accuracy and care. This role involves handling syringes, containers, and packaging materials, maintaining local inventory, and supporting the shipping process while following standard operating procedures and maintaining a clean, organized work area. Responsibilities Accurately fill material products into syringes of various sizes, ensuring correct volume and consistency. Carefully insert pistons into syringes while avoiding trapped air and maintaining product integrity. Operate automated and semi-automated machinery that fills and labels packaging according to specifications. Print labels with the correct information and apply them neatly and accurately to packaging. Accurately count parts and seal them in bags, ensuring correct quantities and proper closure. Maintain local inventory of parts used in the department, including tracking usage and replenishing as needed. Pack finished items into boxes in an orderly manner and deliver them to the shipping department. Fill powder and liquid products into containers and securely apply caps to prevent leaks or contamination. Read, comprehend, and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the employee manual to ensure compliance and consistency. Take direction from lead personnel and follow instructions to meet production and quality standards. Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of unnecessary clutter to support safe and efficient operations. Perform weekly area cleaning, including washing work surfaces and occasionally mopping floors. Essential Skills At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with packing and packaging tasks in a production setting. Ability to work on an assembly line and perform repetitive tasks with consistency and attention to detail. Experience with general production and general labor in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. Ability to operate basic or semi-automated machinery related to packaging and filling. Skill in accurately filling orders and handling materials for shipping. Experience with labeling products and applying labels accurately. Basic inventory handling skills, including counting and tracking parts. Ability to read, comprehend, and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and written instructions. Capability to follow directions from lead personnel and work effectively as part of a production team. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with shipping processes and delivering finished goods to a shipping department. Familiarity with loading and moving packaged products within a production or warehouse environment. Comfort working with both powder and liquid products in a controlled manner. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
