This is a contract-to-hire opportunity for a skilled machinist who can read blueprints, set up tooling, and produce precision parts to spec on a manual lathe. Strong performers will be considered for permanent placement. This is a full-time position on 1st shift (6:00 AM to 2:30 PM), working a standard 40-hour week, Monday through Friday. Pay is $24-$28 per hour. Responsibilities Set up and operate manual lathes to machine parts to precise tolerances Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings Select proper tooling, speeds, and feeds for each job Measure and inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments Perform routine maintenance on lathe equipment Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area Requirements Proven experience operating a manual lathe in a manufacturing or machine shop setting Strong blueprint reading and precision measurement skills Ability to work independently and consistently meet tight tolerances Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
