1st (7a-3:30p) Job Description We are seeking a skilled Grinder to join our team. This position requires the ability to grind pieces to precise dimensions, typically using tool steel. The role involves removing metal by applying abrasives bonded to a rotating wheel and finishing flat, cylindrical, and conical surfaces. The successful candidate will be proficient in reading and interpreting charts, drawings, and blueprints, determining product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and selecting appropriate grinding speeds, feed rates, holding fixtures, and grinding wheels. Responsibilities Mount and dress grinding wheels according to specifications. Position work rest to the specified height. Confirm ground workpieces meet required specifications. Utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial bore gages, and preset gauges. Set up and operate OD, ID, and manual grinders, including centerless and surface grinders. Hold and maintain very tight tolerances to within .0005 inches. Essential Skills Experience with OD, ID, and manual grinding machines, including setup and operation. Proficiency in centerless or surface grinding. Manual quality equipment experience Ability to read and interpret shop blueprints. Strong understanding of grinding principles. Experience in maintaining tight tolerances. Ownership of a set of micrometers ranging from .000 to 2.000 inches. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with Cincinnati Centerless Grinders. The facility is well-lit and temperature-controlled, offering a comfortable working environment. The position is for the first shift from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Euclid, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
