Job Description

We're seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to support our Tool & Die and Engineering teams by producing precision tooling, fixtures, prototypes, and production-support components in a highly specialized manufacturing environment. What You'll Do Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines, EDM equipment, and surface grinders Create, edit, and prove out CNC programs using G-code, conversational programming, machine controls, or CAM software Machine tooling components, fixtures, prototypes, replacement parts, and production-support components from drawings, sketches, samples, or verbal instructions Perform precision machining operations while maintaining close tolerances and high-quality finishes Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, setup sheets, and basic GD&T requirements Select appropriate tooling, workholding, feeds, speeds, offsets, and inspection methods Inspect completed work using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gages, and optical comparators Support troubleshooting, repair, and improvement of tooling, dies, fixtures, and machine components Document setups, tooling information, and program revisions for repeatability Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment What We're Looking For High school diploma, technical certificate, machining apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on machining experience Experience operating CNC machine tools; experience with manual machining equipment is a plus Ability to read blueprints, understand dimensions and tolerances, and produce precision parts Comfortable using precision measuring equipment to verify work Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail Willingness to learn EDM, surface grinding, and additional machining processes Experience with CNC programming, G-code, conversational controls, or CAM software preferred Experience with tool and die work, precision manufacturing, or prototype machining preferred Reliable, team-oriented, safety-focused, and committed to quality Why Work at Crescent Manufacturing?
