TK Machining Specialties (TKMS) is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Technical Machinist to join our production team. In this role, you will manufacture high-precision components using state-of-the-art CNC machining centers and conventional machine tools, including mills, lathes, grinders, and drill presses. You will work with industry-leading equipment from Makino, Matsuura, and Okuma , utilizing
FANUC CNC
controls to produce complex, tight-tolerance parts while maintaining the highest standards of quality, precision, and efficiency. Responsibilities:
Set up, operate, and maintain CNC and manual machine tools, including mills, lathes, grinders, and drill presses to specifications and production schedules Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models to determine machining requirements Program, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs as needed Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, materials, and machining processes Verify finished parts meet dimensional and quality requirements within specified tolerances. Monitor machine performance and adjust controls to optimize production efficiency. Utilize hand tools, micrometers, calipers, and other measuring instruments to ensure precision in machining processes Perform routine maintenance on machines and troubleshoot any issues that arise during production Implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity and reduce waste Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and improve overall efficiency Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet specifications Collaborate with engineers, quality personnel, and production teams to improve manufacturing processes.
Required Experience & Skills:
3+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing or precision production environment.
Setup & Operating Skills:
Demonstrated proficiency with machine setup, operation, and machine-side adjustments for CNC equipment, specifically milling and turning operations.
Blueprint Reading:
Strong capability to read and interpret technical documentation, blueprints, and engineering schematics.
Precision Measurement:
Mastery in using hand tools and precision instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) under strict quality control standards.
Technical & Math Aptitude:
Solid foundation in practical shop math and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Autonomy:
Ability to work safely and independently with minimal supervision while meeting tight deadlines. Preferred Qualifications Technical certificate or Associate Degree in Machine Tool Technology, Precision Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field. 3-5 years of well-rounded machining experience incorporating both CNC and manual/conventional tools. Practical knowledge or exposure to Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
Compensation & Benefits Base Pay:
$23.00 - $28.00 per hour (commensurate with experience) Overtime Opportunities available
