Job Description

- CNC Lathe Machinist
- Job Description
- This role focuses on setting up and operating 3-axis DMG Mori CNC lathes to produce precision shafts and components in both small and large diameter departments. You will use blueprints and existing programs to configure machines, perform tool and insert changes, and make minor adjustments to G&M code to ensure accurate and efficient machining operations.
- Responsibilities:
- + Set up and operate 3-axis DMG Mori CNC lathes in both small and large diameter departments.
+ Utilize blueprints and existing CNC programs to properly set up machines for each job.
+ Perform minor modifications to G&M code as needed to optimize machine operations, without full programming responsibilities.
+ Carry out insert changes and tool changes to maintain machining quality and productivity.
+ Determine and prepare the correct tools required for tool changes and part setup.
+ Read and interpret blueprints to ensure parts meet dimensional and quality requirements.
+ Operate CNC machines to produce shafts and related components to specification.
+ Support changeovers between jobs, including setup adjustments and tooling changes.
+ Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures while operating CNC equipment.
- Skills:
- + At least 3 years of CNC lathe machining experience.
+ Hands-on experience with CNC machine setup.
+ Ability to read, understand, and work with G&M code for machine operations.
+ Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpretation.
+ Experience with CNC changeovers and machine operating.
+ Ability to identify and select appropriate tools for tool changes and part setup.
+ Capability to perform insert and tool changes on CNC lathes.
+ Ownership and use of basic hand tools required for daily machining tasks.

- This is a Permanent position based out of Willoughby, OH.
- Pay and Benefits
- The pay range for this position is $52000.00
- $58240.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
