CNC Machinist - Mill OR Lathe |

Pay:
$33-$38/hour Position Overview A precision manufacturing company is seeking experienced CNC Machinists for milling and turning operations. This is a skilled machinist position requiring candidates who can independently set up CNC equipment, read complex blueprints, select tooling, adjust feeds and speeds, troubleshoot machining issues, and produce parts to tight tolerances. Candidates may specialize in CNC mills OR CNC lathes. Experience with both is not required. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC mills or CNC lathes. Machine precision metal components to print specifications. Read and interpret complex blueprints and engineering drawings. Select tooling, inserts, workholding, and machining methods. Determine and adjust feeds and speeds. Make tooling, offset, machine, and program adjustments. Troubleshoot dimensional, tooling, and machining issues. Perform first-piece and in-process inspections. Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, verniers, and other measuring tools. Maintain tight dimensional and surface-finish requirements. Complete production and inspection documentation. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Qualifications 4+ years of CNC machining experience. Strong experience with CNC milling OR CNC turning. Ability to independently set up CNC machines. Experience making tooling, offset, machine, or program adjustments. Strong knowledge of cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and tool life. Ability to read complex blueprints and technical drawings. Strong understanding of tolerances and precision inspection. Proficient with micrometers, calipers, gauges, and similar equipment. Strong shop math and troubleshooting skills. High school diploma or GED. Willingness to work overtime as needed. Preferred Experience Conversational CNC programming CNC program editing Tight-tolerance machining Complex or low-volume production Multi-axis CNC equipment 4-jaw chuck setups Machining a variety of metals and alloys Fixture and tooling setup Experience with both mills and lathes Root cause analysis and continuous improvement What We're Looking For We are looking for skilled machinists, not basic machine operators. Strong candidates should be comfortable setting up their own equipment, selecting tooling, determining machining parameters, making process adjustments, troubleshooting issues, and inspecting finished parts to ensure they meet specification.
Pay:
$33.00 - $38.00 per hour
