Job Summary We are seeking a skilled 5-Axis CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team on the second shift. In this role, you will set up, program, and operate multi-axis CNC machining centers to produce precision parts for [industry, e.g., aerospace, medical, oil and gas]. You will handle jobs from setup through first-article inspection, working closely with engineering and quality to keep parts on spec and on schedule. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-tolerance components using advanced 5-axis equipment in a fast-paced environment. Duties Set up and operate 5-axis CNC milling machines, including installing fixtures and setting work and tool offsets. Read and interpret blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) callouts to ensure accurate part production. Write, edit, and prove out programs using G-code and CAM software such as Mastercam or Fusion 360. Make program adjustments at the control to hold tolerances, improve surface finish, and reduce cycle times. Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Complete first-article and in-process inspection documentation accurately. Troubleshoot tooling, setup, and quality issues to minimize downtime and scrap. Perform routine machine maintenance and keep the work area clean, organized, and safe. Requirements [3-5+] years of CNC machining experience, including at least [2] years on 4- or 5-axis equipment. Ability to set up jobs independently and prove out new programs. Working knowledge of G-code and Fanuc, Haas, Mazatrol, or Siemens control systems. Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills. Ability to hold tight tolerances Proficiency with precision measurement tools, including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and dial indicators.
