Job Description

Bridgeport Machinist Our client is seeking an experienced Bridgeport Machinist to independently produce precision parts in a hands-on machining environment. The ideal candidate brings strong CNC machining fundamentals, excellent mechanical judgment, and the ability to take complex or non-standard work from print through finished part while maintaining tight quality standards. This role is on-site in Hillsboro, Oregon working from Monday-Thursday 6AM to 4:30PM. Bridgeport Machinist Responsibilities Program, set up, and operate Prototrak-equipped bed mills to machine precision components from start to finish. Determine machining strategies for complex and custom parts, including operation sequencing, tooling, feeds, speeds, and workholding requirements. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, specifications, and work instructions to consistently meet dimensional requirements. Design, build, and modify fixtures, soft jaws, custom jaws, and other workholding or tooling solutions as needed. Inspect completed work using precision measuring equipment and partner with Quality and Engineering to resolve discrepancies, perform rework or repairs, and maintain required tolerances. Maintain an organized and safe work environment while following established machining, quality, and safety procedures. Perform additional machining and production-related duties as needed. Bridgeport Machinist Qualifications 5 or more years of CNC machining experience, with the ability to independently set up, program, and machine parts with minimal supervision. Strong proficiency with Prototrak controls or the demonstrated ability to quickly learn and become proficient with the platform. Strong knowledge of machining fundamentals, including feeds and speeds, cutting tools, workholding, setup techniques, and machining best practices. Ability to accurately interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and technical work instructions. Proficiency with precision inspection tools, including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and indicators. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. Dependable and self-directed, with a strong work ethic, consistent attendance, and effective communication and collaboration skills.
Compensation:
$28-$32/hr + Bonus.
