CNC Machinist Job Description The CNC Machinist is responsible for manufacturing detailed parts and tools from blueprints, sketches, drawings, or verbal instructions using computer
  • or mechanically controlled machine tools and equipment.
This role requires setting up and operating mills, lathes, CNC machines, grinders, and other equipment, using mathematical and geometrical calculations. Precision measuring instruments are used to check tolerances, calculate dimensions, and ensure parts conform to specifications. The machinist also assists engineers in design and evaluation of new products and recommends improvements or modifications. Responsibilities Set up, operate, and maintain CNC milling and turning centers according to complex blueprints and specifications. Retrieve job-related information such as job routings, part drawings, and tool lists. Select and utilize appropriate cutting tools and work holding for various materials. Document manufactured quantities and all required processes using ERP systems. Perform precise measurements and inspections to ensure parts meet quality control standards. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize machining efficiency. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety protocols. Assist with developing new machining methods and tooling for complex parts. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills 5+ years of relevant experience. High school degree or equivalent, plus advanced training. ITAR compliance. Excellent attention to detail. Working knowledge of customer specifications and requirements. Basic computer skills. Problem-solving abilities. Ability to use calipers, micrometers, etc. Mastery of basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Understanding and obeying safety requirements. Commitment to maintaining a clean work area. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with machine setup, calipers, machining, milling, micrometer, machine operation. Programming skills including CNC lathe and CNC mill. CNC program edits. CMM operation, vertical mill, axis setup, inspection, machine shop. GD& T, horizontal mill, blueprint reading, G code, machine setup. Why Work Here? Day shift:
6:30 am
  • 4:30 pm, Monday to Thursday; Swing shift: 4:30 pm
  • 2:45 am, Monday to Thursday with an 8% differential; Weekend shift: 5:00 am
  • 5:30 pm, Friday to Sunday with a 12% differential. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Plains, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00
