Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lathe Cell Operator for our third shift to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating CNC lathes and related machinery to produce precision components, ensuring high-quality standards are met throughout the production process. Your expertise will contribute to efficient manufacturing operations, supporting the creation of complex parts with accuracy and consistency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your mechanical skills and machining knowledge will be valued and developed. Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Including the following: other duties may be assigned):
- Know and follow all applicable policies and procedures within our QMS System, including Hazard ID's and JSA's
- Report all HSE incidents, accidents, near misses and potential problems in a timely manner
- Will be expected to help train fellow employees in levels below them, sharing knowledge will help the department and PMG to grow. Training must be done per WI or Procedures
- Engage with fellow employees to drive Continuous Improvement
- Aim to have positive attitude and work together in a courteous and cordial manner. They should strive to help create an honest, trustworthy, and friendly work environment.
- Use TPM and 5S Methodologies to help optimize equipment availability and improve plant cleanliness and organization by working with maintenance, fellow employees, and leaders to improve overall productivity.
- Operators must complete and pass Level 2 Lathe testing
- Capable of operating and maintaining multiple Cells (must be able to work in any of the 8 cells)
- Operators must Troubleshooting/problem solving both machine issues and automation to ensure efficient operation and output
- All Quality checks must be completed per Procedure- Short cuts will not be condoned. It is the operator's responsibility to ensure we do not allow for nonconforming parts
- Completes 1st pc inspections on set-up and tool changes (if required)
- Operators will not have a specific cell (Shift Lead/Supervisor will schedule)
- Makes offset adjustments on Lathes to control part quality
- Changes Machining Inserts as directed
- Makes adjustments to Lathe and Sizer Automation as needed
- Changes tooling as directed
- Other duties as needed
