Description Summary:

Plans and performs machining operations of a complex nature. Also, plans operational procedures and sequences. May need to improvise.

Duties & Responsibiliities:

Plan and perform machining operations of a diverse and complex nature to produce components for tools, dies, fixtures, jigs, guages, etc. Select tooling, work holding methods, spindle speeds, tooling feed rates and machine attachments. Determine grind for tooling best suited for material characteristics. Mount and secure tooling in tool holders. Improvise tooling and machine setups for special adaptations. Operate all types of machines for the construction of graphite dies. Select proper grades of graphite. Use of precise measuring tools to setup and operate machines and to check work. Visually inspect work. Comply with all quality, safety, work rules and regulations.
