CNC Machinist

Machinist / CNC Programmer Level 3 Greer, SC | Permanent, full time | $30
- $36 per hour About the role An established automation systems integrator in Greer, SC is hiring an experienced Machinist / CNC Programmer.
You'll make the parts that go into custom automation equipment for end users across many industries. Most of the work is one-off and short-run parts made from engineering drawings. You'll take a print, decide how to hold the part, program it, cut it and inspect it yourself. It suits a machinist who wants to own the job from start to finish and works well without being watched over. What you'll do
- Set up, program and run CNC vertical machining centers, plus manual lathes and mills
- Design and secure fixturing, select tooling, and set work and tool offsets
- Program parts in SolidCAM, and read, write and edit G-code at the control
- Program and operate Fanuc-controlled CNC machines
- Set feeds, speeds, coolant, and depth and angle of cut
- Run trial cuts and correct anything out of tolerance
- Inspect your own parts with calipers, micrometers and bore gauges
- Work to full engineering drawings, including GD&T
- Machine a wide range of materials, including exotic metals and plastics
- Coach other shop staff on set-ups, feeds and speeds
- Help maintenance with repairs and preventative maintenance What you need
- 10+ years hands-on machining, doing your own set-ups and programming
- SolidCAM programming experience
- Strong G-code skills, writing and editing by hand
- Fanuc control programming and operation
- Manual lathe and mill set-up and operation
- Precision measurement and GD&T
- Working knowledge of tool geometry, feeds and speeds
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Permanent right to work in the US. Sponsorship is not available Nice to have
- Machinist apprenticeship or other formal machining or CNC training
- Turning centers and surface grinders
- Building from assembly prints with hand and power tools
- Fabrication and welding Hours and pay
- $30•$36 per hour depending on experience•Day shift, Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week•Overtime when required, plus occasional weekend or holiday work to support end-user shutdowns•Onsite in Greer, SC, with up to 10% travel How to apply Apply with your CV.
