Job Description

BVM Corporation, a major manufacturer of Oil Rig Handling Tools for the Oil and Gas Industry, is searching for a Machinist to join our team. The following information is provided for those interested in applying for the position of Machinist This position reports to the BVM Corporation Machining Supervisor and the normal work hours are from 6:00 AM AM until 2:30 PM Monday through Friday. Some overtime may be required on a limited basis. Compensation is dependent on experience and previous performance.
GENERAL DUTIES AND WORK ASSIGNMENTS A. RESPONSIBILITIES
Performing machine shop tasks involving set-up and operation of tools Assists in machine production of parts and assemblies using milling machines, drill presses, lathes, or similar tools, both manual and CNC controlled Responsible for documentation generated as related to the production of the job Assists in updating legacy programs Suggests methods for improving product quality or manufacturing processes Follows production schedule to keep jobs and projects on time Runs production machines as schedule dictates
B. ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS
Regardless of other duties, has a responsibility to follow the company's production, safety, attendance and quality procedures.
C. REQUIREMENTS
a) Education and Training
  • High school diploma or equivalent or as deemed sufficient by management. b)Familiar with CAM software, Mastercam preferred c) Technical Requirements
  • Knowledge of CNC machining and manual machining, both mill and lathe. computer literate; written and verbal communication skills; proficient with MS Office; experience with Mastercam a plus. Ability to interpret sketches, prints and drawings. Able to use precision measuring equipment. Knowledge of CNC programming with both mill and lathe. d) Experience
  • At least three to five (3-5) years' relevant experience
