Job Description

SUMMARY:
The Machinist will work closely with our production, quality and project delivery teams to accurately perform high-quality machining across differing materials such as carbon steel and aluminum in our facility supporting projects demanding exceptional craftsmanship and quality. The candidate must be willing and eager to work in an ISO-9001compliant small company and in a fast-paced environment where each employee wears multiple hats and fully embraces the get-it-done attitude. The position will report directly to the department manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
include, but not limited to:
  • Set up and load materials such as aluminum, various steel, various plastics, fiberglass and safely operate machine tools such as CNC mills and lathes as well as other machining tools necessary to perform the work.
  • Replace worn cutting tools where required
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings necessary to accurately machine finished parts to exacting tolerances of the finished product.
  • Monitor machining progress and adapt / adjust as necessary to ensure finished product meets or exceeds specifications
  • Collaborate with welders, assemblers, and engineers to support production timelines and maintain high standards in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clean equipment, work area and tools while adhere to safety protocols
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • One year certificate from college or 12 months related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education or experience.
  • Ability to read and operate all measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, depth gage, etc.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret safety and procedures furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  • Possess math and precision measurement skills and able to read machine drawings
  • Capable of solving practical problems and dealing with variables in real time
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and weld specification
PHYSICAL
DEMANDS and
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Regularly required to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Work within a production environment capability to perform physically demanding tasks over extended periods, often in varying environmental conditions (e.g., hot, cold, or humid environments).
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Ability to perform visual checks and handle materials responsibly while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Frequently required to use hands to operate machinery.
  • Frequently, must bend, reach, and stoop.
