Job Description:
American Industrial Machine is seeking an experienced Manual Machinist / Lathe Operator to join our growing team in Odessa, TX. This is a hands-on, in-house position with very limited travel.
Experience Requirements:
Must have at least 1 year of experience operating a manual lathe. A background working on pistons, rods/rings, cylinders, or compressor components in the oil field/manufacturing environment is preferred. Essential Job Functions:
Operate manual lathes and milling machines to produce precision parts Perform ID/OD single-point threading Carry out turning, grooving, and boring operations Set up machines by adjusting tools and equipment to match specifications Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders Conduct in-process and final quality checks to ensure tolerances are met Collaborate with team members to improve machining processes and efficiency Maintain cleanliness and follow all safety standards in the machining area
Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of experience operating a manual lathe•required Manufacturing industry experience•preferred Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred
