In this role, you will be responsible for operating manual machining equipment with precision and expertise to produce high-quality metal components. Your mechanical knowledge, ability to interpret blueprints, and proficiency with various machining tools will be essential in delivering accurate parts that meet strict specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex manufacturing projects while honing your craftsmanship and technical skills in a fast-paced environment. Duties Set up and operate manual machining tools such as lathes and milling machines to produce precise metal parts according to detailed blueprints and specifications Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings to ensure accurate machining processes Use precision measurement instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and dial indicators to verify dimensions and quality standards throughout production Perform machine setup, calibration, and adjustments to optimize machining accuracy and efficiency Conduct quality inspections using measurement tools and visual checks to ensure parts meet tolerances and specifications Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and properly handling power tools and hand tools Collaborate with team members on assembly processes when required, supporting lean manufacturing principles for continuous improvement Skills Extensive experience with manual machining techniques on lathes, mills, grinders, and other machining tools Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings. Proficiency in CNC G-code programming knowledge is a plus for understanding automated processes but not mandatory for manual operation Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of metal properties, machining principles, and tooling requirements Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and micrometers for quality control purposes Familiarity with CNC machining concepts such as CNC lathe operation, CNC milling machines (Fanuc controls preferred), CNC quality inspection, and basic CNC programming is advantageous but not essential Ability to interpret mechanical blueprints accurately and apply GD&T standards effectively Strong math skills for calculations related to measurements, tolerances, and machine setup adjustments Knowledge of tooling selection, maintenance of machining tools, power tools usage, and hand tool handling Mechanical knowledge combined with attention to detail ensures consistent production of high-quality components Join our team as a Manual Machinist if you're passionate about craftsmanship, eager to develop your skills in precision manufacturing, and ready to contribute to innovative projects.
