Job Description Position Title:
CNC Machinist (Lathe)Wage:
$25.00- $28.
DOE Shift:
1stHours:
6:00am- 2:30pm QPS Employment Group has a great CNC Machinist Lathe Operator position available with PFI in Tomball, TX.
- Study blueprints, sketches, damaged parts, and specifications to determine machining requirements, dimensions, and tolerances
- Measure, mark, and lay out materials for machining operations
- Set up and operate lathes and other metal-removing machines such as mills, grinders, and shapers
- Verify finished workpieces using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision measuring instruments
- Troubleshoot machining issues and assist with diagnosing equipment malfunctions when needed
- Adapt tooling, fixturing, materials, and machining techniques as directed by supervision
- Accurately document job activities, transactions, and time worked
- Follow ISO inspection procedures and quality standards
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while adhering to all company safety policies
CNC Machinist Lathe Operator Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Trade school or technical certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience setting up and operating lathes required
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
- Familiarity with G-code and CNC programming concepts
- Working knowledge of tooling, fixturing, and machine setups
- Experience using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, and height gauges
- Ability to make machine adjustments and troubleshoot basic machining issues
- Basic computer skills required
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the
United States Physical Requirements:
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
- Frequent use of hands for handling tools and materials
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
