5-Axis Mill/Turn Master Machinist

July 2026 POSITION SUMMARY Aerospace, Defense and Industrial manufacturer in Las Colinas, Texas specializing in precision components and assemblies. We are seeking a 5-Axis CNC machinist with extensive mill/turn experience. Qualified applicants will have a background in complex machining and tight tolerances. We work in a climate-controlled facility with mills, lathes and mill/turn machines. Our first shift operates from 6:00 AM to 2:30PM Monday through Friday. This is a full-time position paying $30.00 - $40.00 per hour.RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
- Set-up and operate 3,4 and 5-axis mills. This position will support and operate new, large, 5-axis+, mill/turn machines producing complex aerospace parts.
- Inspect completed work for conformance to drawings and specs using a variety of measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, radius pins, thread gages and height gages.
- Monitor machines, change tools, deburr parts and record data on travelers.
- Accurately complete job paperwork and part documentation.
- Identify machining issues, coordinate with support staff and make adjustments when warranted.
REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of 10 years' relevant shop experience.
- Requires expert-level proficiency in machining and metrology.
- Solid understanding of drawings and GD&T tolerancing.
- Demonstrate interpersonal skills applicable to small team dynamics.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
- Expert knowledge of CNC machining, fixturing, and tooling.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Flexibility to work overtime or extended hours when needed.
- Basic shop math skills and ability to read prints.
- Knowledge of cutting tools and machining techniques.
- Knowledge of Mazak (Mazatrol Smooth AI), Okuma (OSP-P500) or Makino (Professional 6) controls a plus.
- The preferred candidate will have OEM or Tier I experience with 5-axis set-up, new machine check out and new part introductions and will be recognized as an expert with complex mill/turn machines.
