depending on education & experience Summary A Manual Machinist has an in depth knowledge of manual mills, lathes, tool making, tool sharpening, and grinders. They are able to interpret drawings and prints; uses mathematical skills to determine measurements, time, and quantities. Primarily serves walk-in customers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Use company-supplied machines including manual based mills and lathes to machine finished goods per customer needs and specifications Grind, bore, and hone material to specifications Read and understand customer supplied drawings, CVM shop drawings, and CVM shop travelers Design and create holding jigs to aid in the fabrication of parts in multiple numbers, using measuring devices, and drawings Work with walk-in customers and project managers to understand their needs and meets their requirements Follow direction from team lead, shop foreman, and general manager in order to facilitate work processes Maintain a clean work space and properly clean and maintain work equipment Qualifications 3+ years of manual machining experience High school diploma or equivalent Certificate of Machining from a trade school Competencies To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following: Interpersonal Skills
