Precision Machining Trade:
Experienced CNC Machinist (Large Mills) Wanted in Ridgefield! Are you a seasoned CNC machinist with proven mastery over large horizontal and vertical mills, sharp trigonometry skills, and the confidence to set up complex, one-off parts from scratch? American Workforce Group has partnered with a prominent, locally owned precision manufacturing and custom machine shop in Ridgefield, WA to hire a full-time, direct-placement Experienced CNC Machinist . In this high-autonomy trade role, you will work in a modern, collaborative shop with an energetic, tight-knit crew and an owner who is hands-on on the floor every day. You will take prints, program adjustments, and raw material to machine precision parts, sub-assemblies, and heavy components to exact tolerances. CNC Machinist:
Set up, program offsets, and operate large horizontal and vertical CNC milling centers to manufacture precision parts, sub-assemblies, and specialized machinery. Perform complex, independent setups for one-off prototypes, custom fabrications, and tight-tolerance production runs. Interpret intricate engineering blueprints, GD&T symbols, and job routings; utilize shop trigonometry to calculate coordinates, dimensions, and angles. Select appropriate cutting tooling, speeds, feeds, fixtures, and workholding strategies to optimize tool life, surface finish, and machine cycle times. Conduct precision first-article and in-process quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height stands, and dial indicators. CNC Machinist:
Pay Rate:
$35.00+ / hour (Scaling upward based on depth of machining mastery, setup skill, and trade experience / DOE).
Position Type:
Direct-Hire / Long-Term Career Placement.
Schedule:
Full-Time Day Shift | Monday - Friday.

CNC Machinist:
Education /
Trade Training:
Completion of a formal technical school program, trade apprenticeship, or an accredited 4-year in-company machining training program.
Tenure:
Minimum 5+ years of verified on-the-job experience operating and setting up large horizontal and vertical CNC mills.
Setup Mastery:
Proven ability to execute complex, one-off setups independently with zero hand-holding.
Blueprint & Math Skills:
Strong blueprint reading literacy and working proficiency in applied shop mathematics, including trigonometry.
Tooling:
Must possess own complete set of precision machinist inspection and hand tools. Strong team collaboration skills, reliable daily attendance, and pride in precision craftsmanship.
