Ideal candidate will have experience at least 2 years as a lead/supervisor and 4 years with vertical Machines. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills needed. This is a full time, direct hire position.

Manufacturing Position Summary Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the CNC Machining Lead is responsible for coordinating daily machining operations while serving as the primary point of communication between the machining team and other production departments. This role helps keep production on schedule by planning ahead, resolving issues before they impact workflow, and ensuring quality parts are delivered on time. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who supports the team, drives continuous improvement, and promotes a safe, collaborative, and accountable work environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support daily machining operations, including machine setup, program prove-outs, offset adjustments, troubleshooting, deburring, and part inspection.
  • Coordinate machine assignments and labor resources to maximize productivity and meet production schedules.
  • Prioritize and sequence jobs to ensure on-time delivery and efficient workflow.
  • Monitor production performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Troubleshoot machining, programming, and production issues to minimize disruptions.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain working knowledge of machining processes, equipment, tooling, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with other department leads to ensure production schedules and customer commitments are achieved.
  • Monitor tooling and inventory needs and obtain pricing or quotes as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, quality standards, and operating procedures.
  • Communicate shift updates, production concerns, and ongoing priorities to ensure smooth transitions between shifts.
  • Provide coaching, technical guidance, and day-to-day support to machining personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations. Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 4 years of CNC machining experience
  • Experience with vertical and horizontal machining centers
  • Experience with Fanuc and Okuma CNC controls.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, cutting parameters, inspection equipment, and blueprint interpretation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot machining and production issues independently.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining attention to detail. Preferred
  • Experience using precision inspection equipment such as calipers, indicators, and micrometers.
  • Ownership of basic machinist tools, including a lockable toolbox and standard hand tools.
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring machinists in a production environment.
