SUMMARY This position is responsible for the set up and operation of the CNC Horizontal Boring Bar to perform machining operations such as milling, drilling, boring. This position is also responsible for maintaining quality and safety standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Analyze blueprints, written specifications and drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished parts and tooling. Plan and layout setup operations, and determine sequence of operations. 2. Operate machines while monitoring for malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining. Adjust machine controls as required. 3. Knowledge of shop mathematics, metal properties, and machining procedures. Uses various hand-held and stationary power and non-power tools including but not limited to band saws, belt sanders, hand grinders and files to complete jobs. 4. Ability to perform milling operations such as drilling, tapping, boring. Uses controls to set feeds, speeds, depth of cut, and to position tool. 5. Capable of using measuring devices and techniques to ensure proper sizing. 6. Verifies conformance of finished parts to blue prints and work instructions. 7. Maintains up-to-date documentation as required for quality and production. 8. Clearly communicates problems or necessary changes to the Supervisor. Also, works effectively with Quality Control and Materials personnel. 9. Strive for maximum efficiencies while maintaining quality standards. 10. Maintains safe operations of equipment by adhering to set safety procedures. 11. Performs and documents required daily maintenance. 12. Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping practices. 13. Create and maintain professional/respectful relationships with others. Be able to communicate effectively.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Boring Bar Operator. Excellent attention to detail and time management skills Ability to analyze and solve problems Ability to prioritize work flow Flexibility in approach and willingness to adapt when necessary Proactive and action-orientated Ability to work individually or as part of a team Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate figures and amounts. Use of basic math and shop trigonometry.
Pay:
$30.00 - $40.00 per hour
