3x12 Hr Fri-Sun 6am-6pm We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team on a weekend shift. In this role, you will operate, set up, and maintain CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines such as lathes and milling machines to produce high precision metal components. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will be essential in ensuring high-quality production standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machining tools and contribute to innovative manufacturing processes. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for precision machining, we want to hear from you! Responsibilities Operate CNC machines including DMG, Makino and Okuma lathes and milling centers, ensuring accurate and efficient production of parts. Set up machines by installing tooling, calibrating equipment, and preparing workpieces according to specifications. Develop and modify CNC programs using G-code, M-code, and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to optimize machining processes. Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models. Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement tools for quality control purposes. Conduct machine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and make adjustments to ensure optimal performance. Inspect finished parts for conformance to specifications through CNC quality inspection techniques and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Maintain a clean and safe work environment while adhering to safety protocols related to machine operation and handling power tools. Collaborate with engineering teams during machine setup, tooling selection, and process improvements following lean manufacturing principles. Qualifications Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as lathes, mills, or CNC milling machines with Fanuc or similar controls. Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages including G-code and M-code; experience with CAM programming is highly desirable. Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints and interpreting mechanical blueprints accurately. Familiarity with CAD software like SolidWorks or general CAD programs for model review and modifications. Mechanical aptitude with understanding of machining tools, manual machining techniques, grinders, hand tools, power tools, and tooling setup. Ability to perform precise measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments for quality control. Basic math skills necessary for calculating dimensions, tolerances, feed rates, speeds, and other machining parameters. Knowledge of manufacturing processes including metal machining, CNC G-code programming, CNC quality inspection, and lean manufacturing practices. Mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints accurately is essential for success in this role. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machine issues efficiently while maintaining safety standards. Join our team as a CNC Machinist if you are passionate about precision manufacturing and eager to contribute your technical expertise in a dynamic environment!
