Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented CNC Machinist Supervisor to lead our third-shift manufacturing team. Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of CNC machinists on the third shift, ensuring production goals are met with precision and efficiency Oversee machine setup, calibration, and operation of CNC lathes, milling machines, grinders, and manual machining tools to produce parts according to specifications Review blueprints and mechanical drawings for accuracy; interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure quality standards are maintained Program CNC machines using G-code, M-code, CAD (Computer-Aided Design), CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing), and Mazatrol controls to optimize machining processes Conduct quality inspections utilizing measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision measurement instruments Troubleshoot machine issues related to electrical discharge machining (EDM), tooling, or mechanical problems; perform machine maintenance and adjustments as needed Lead efforts in lean manufacturing practices to reduce waste, improve workflow, and enhance overall productivity while maintaining safety standards Skills Extensive knowledge of CNC programming languages including G-code, M-code, Fanuc controls, and Mazatrol systems Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks and general blueprint reading skills for mechanical blueprints and GD&T interpretation Strong understanding of machining tools including lathes, mills, grinders, hand tools, power tools, and tooling setup procedures Mechanical aptitude with experience in electrical discharge machining (EDM), manual machining techniques, and machine setup processes Ability to operate precision measurement instruments like micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other quality control devices Familiarity with manufacturing principles including lean manufacturing practices for process improvement Basic math skills for calculations related to measurements, tolerances, and machine adjustments Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise a team effectively during night shift operations while maintaining safety compliance Join us in this vital role where your technical expertise and leadership will shape the future of our manufacturing excellence!
