Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Journeyman / Senior CNC Machinist to perform complex setups, adjust G-code logic, and operate multi-axis mills and lathes in a fast-paced contract manufacturing job shop. You will work from custom client blueprints, select tooling, set up custom fixtures, and execute rapid part changeovers to deliver high-precision components across varied job orders. Key Responsibilities Set up multi-axis CNC milling and turning centers (3/4/5-axis mills and live-tooling lathes), selecting and securing custom work holding, fixtures, and cutting tools. Read/interpret G-code or conversational interfaces. Make control-level edits, adjust work offsets, and optimize speeds/feeds for peak efficiency and quality. Read engineering drawings, job routings, and strict GD&T specifications. Perform first-article inspections and in-process checks using precision instruments to verify part dimensions against CMM reports. Log setups, job progress, and material movements in Epicor while keeping work areas clean, organized, and safe. Qualifications Formal Journeyman Machinist card/certification OR 5+ years of equivalent CNC setup and operation experience. Proficiency in G-code editing or conversational CNC controller operations. Demonstrated mastery of GD&T and shop math. Proven track record of maintaining tight tolerances. Ability to work independently while prioritizing safety and quality.
