What You'll Be Doing As a Laser Operator , you will take charge of high-precision CNC laser cutting systems, turning raw sheet metal and structural tubing into clean, custom-cut components ready for production.

Machine Setup & Operation:

Load material, select correct cutting programs, set parameters (focus, gas pressure, power settings), and run precision CNC industrial lasers.

Material Handling & Quality Checks:

Safely stage sheet stock and tubing, perform first-article inspections using calipers and micrometers, and verify cut edge quality and tolerances.

Routine Maintenance:

Perform light daily machine maintenance (cleaning lenses, nozzles, and drop trays; checking assist gas levels) to keep the laser running at peak performance.

Troubleshooting:

Monitor cuts in real-time, adjust feed rates or focal distances to prevent dross/burrs, and maintain high efficiency with minimal material scrap.

Safety & Workflow:

Keep a clean, safe work zone and coordinate with the press brake and welding teams down the line.

What We're Looking For CNC Laser Experience:

2+ years operating industrial fiber or CO2 lasers (Trumpf, Bystronic, Amada, Mazak, or similar CNC cutting systems).

Blueprint & Measurement Skills:

Ability to read shop drawings, nested flat patterns, and use precision measuring instruments accurately.

Material Knowledge:

Experience working with carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum across various gauges and tubing profiles.

Detail-Oriented & Autonomous:

Ability to spot cut defects early, adjust parameters independently, and maintain tight production schedules.

Physical & Overhead Crane Skills:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and safely use overhead cranes or forklifts to load sheet metal and tube stock.
