In this role, you will be responsible for operating converting machines that slit large rolls of material into smaller, precise widths and wind them into manageable rolls for packaging and distribution. Your expertise will ensure that production standards are met efficiently while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards. Responsibilities Operate slitting and winding machinery to process various materials according to production specifications and quality standards. Interpret production documents, including job orders, specifications, and technical drawings, to ensure accurate machine setup and operation. Adjust and calibrate converting machines such as flexo presses and other industrial equipment to achieve precise dimensional measurements and quality output. Conduct routine mechanical troubleshooting and minor repairs on machinery to minimize downtime and maintain continuous production flow. Perform manual handling tasks including loading raw materials, stacking finished rolls, and managing paper packaging or other materials safely. Adhere strictly to safety protocols and standard operating procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues. Utilize forklift or other industrial equipment for material movement when necessary, following proper safety standards in production. Qualifications Proven experience operating converting machines such as slitters, winders, or flexo presses in a manufacturing setting. Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot machine issues quickly and effectively. Familiarity with quality standards in production, dimensional measurements, and inspection techniques. Ability to interpret manufacturing documents, including technical drawings, specifications, and job orders. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and adjustments during machine operation. Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and adherence to safety protocol guidelines. Experience with manual handling tasks related to paper packaging or similar materials is preferred. Certification or experience with forklift operation is advantageous but not mandatory.
