In this role, you will be responsible for operating band saw machines to accurately cut and shape metal and other materials according to technical specifications and blueprints. Your expertise will ensure precise cuts, adherence to safety standards, and efficient workflow within the production environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency in machine operation, and a keen eye for quality control, contributing significantly to our manufacturing excellence. Responsibilities Set up and operate band saw machines, ensuring proper tooling and safety protocols are followed before each operation. Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine cutting requirements. Measure materials accurately using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with design tolerances. Adjust machine settings and tooling based on material type and thickness for optimal performance. Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting on band saw equipment to minimize downtime. Collaborate with team members to coordinate workflow and meet production deadlines. Conduct quality inspections of cut parts, verifying dimensions and surface finish against technical standards. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering strictly to safety standards in production environments. Support the setup of related machinery such as CNC laser cutters, CNC milling machines, or press brake machines when required. Document operational data and report any issues or discrepancies promptly to supervisors. Experience Proven experience operating band saws or similar cutting machinery within a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment. Familiarity with CNC laser cutting, CNC programming, plasma cutting, and other machining processes is highly desirable. Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of machine setup, tooling selection, and safety procedures. Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications accurately. Experience working with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges for quality control. Basic understanding of shop math, including measurements and calculations relevant to machining tasks. Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and strict adherence to safety protocols. Prior experience with welding, forming machines, or sheet metal fabrication is a plus but not mandatory. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
